Introduction To The Audi Q7
The updated second-generation Audi Q7 (the debut of the model with the 4M index took place in 2015) is distinguished by a front 8-sided grille in the manner of the latest Audi novelties. But there is a flip side: even an attentive eye is unlikely to find differences from the interior of the flagship Audi Q8. In other words, touch screens and black glossy panels are now scattered everywhere. For creating an atmosphere of luxury, leather, wood, and aluminum are responsible. Standard equipment includes four-zone climate control with an air purification system, a fragrance and an ionizer, door closers for quiet closing of doors, a Bang & Olufsen 3D audio system are installed. The seats have many adjustments, options include climate control and massage.
2.0 and 3.0 liter gasoline engines are a thing of the past: from now on the Q7 is delivered only with diesel 3.0 TDI (249 hp). At the same time, it was decided to abandon fashionable hybrid systems (all Audi Q7s for Europe are equipped with a starter-generator with a belt drive and a 48-volt network).
The fully-controlled chassis with adaptive air suspension of the updated Q7 crossover received a system of active anti-roll bars (for 7-seater versions, air suspension is standard, for 5-seater standard is spring suspension). The S line package includes an adaptive sports air suspension, makes it more rigid than conventional pneumatics, and reduces ground clearance by 15 mm. The car is equipped with permanent all-wheel drive quattro. Depending on the terrain and traffic conditions, you can select the appropriate mode using the Audi Drive Select dynamic control system with seven profiles. Body dimensions Audi Q7 2020: 5063 x 1970 x 1740 mm (L x W x H); wheelbase – 2990 mm. The luggage capacity of the five-seater version is from 890 to 2075 liters, with a flat loading area. Even with a third row (two seats with electric folding), there is still a luggage compartment of 275 liters in the back. An electric tailgate is standard on all trim levels, and non-contact tailgate opening is available as an option.
The premium crossover is equipped with numerous safety and driver assistance systems. The standard equipment includes: monitoring of blind spots, tracking markings and road signs, an obstacle recognition system on the road with automatic braking, a parking autopilot and many other systems. Standard LED headlamps can be exchanged for the even more advanced Matrix LED. The Audi Q7 crash test in 2015 showed an excellent result – the highest safety rating of “5 stars”.
